BRITTANY BENDIX
Principal Planner
Brittany has over 17 years of land use and policy experience in urban planning, historic preservation, and zoning. Prior to joining M-Group, she worked at the San Francisco Planning Department for nine years, where she focused on large complex development projects in the northwest and southeast quadrants of the city. As a result, she has an extensive background working through controversial projects and collaborating with various parties to resolve disputes. Brittany’s planning portfolio includes current planning projects ranging from new construction of large hillside single homes to high-rises, as well as the review of expansions to and adaptive-reuse of historic resources. Her policy experience entails several internal Department process improvements related to enhancing Department-wide public outreach and streamlining design review, as well as working on broader legislative reforms to San Francisco’s residential demolition and rent control ordinances.
Brittany received her Master's in City and Regional Planning (M.C.R.P) degree from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, with a specialization in International and Regional Development. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of California, San Diego. As of 2017, Brittany is an alumnus of Leadership San Francisco, a community service program operated as a nonprofit affiliate of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
As a Principal Planner with M-Group, Brittany started as a consulting planner for the City of Petaluma where she was the Deputy Planning Manager. In this role, Brittany processed major projects, supervised junior planners and the public counter, facilitated process improvements, and filled in for the Planning Manager as needed. Brittany now works with M-Group's South Bay team on various policy projects for clients, including specific plans, community plans, and housing element updates.
Having grown up in the Bay Area, Brittany loves to spend her downtime with friends and family exploring the region, whether it be wine tasting in Sonoma, hiking Mt. Diablo, or apple picking outside of Davenport. She also likes to cook, listen to live music, wander through museums, travel abroad, and experience other urban environments. Most recently, Brittany spent time in Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Paris. Currently, she’s itching to get back to Mexico City and Berlin.
