ASHER KOHN, AICP

PRINCIPAL PLANNER

Asher Kohn is an energetic and detail-oriented planner. Responsible for managing several housing elements throughout the Bay Area in the most recent cycle, he is primarily focused on housing and equitable development. Asher has worked on several general plans, specific plans, and other long-range policy documents including Menlo Park’s first environmental justice element and an award-winning general plan update for the City of Sausalito. He thinks creatively about how to resolve client issues and engage the community to resolve complicated planning problems.

Asher emphasizes clear communication with the communities and agencies for which he works. This includes written reporting, mapping, and spoken communication as well as a variety of outreach tools. Asher has a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Law degree with an emphasis in land use law from Washington University in St. Louis, and a degree in History from the University of Maryland. When not at work, he has taken up printmaking and baking as well as spending time in the outdoors with family.
